The BEST Things We Did at Our Wedding!

As we thought and planned our wedding… Okay, I didn’t do much planning, but Faith did! Over the months and months of planning, we (mostly she) found several things that we have looked back on and thought, “WOW! We are SO glad we did that on our wedding day!” We want to make this process much shorter for you! So here are the TOP 3 things we did at our wedding that we would 100% do AGAIN!

1. We Spent Time ALONE After Our Rehearsal BEFORE Rehearsal Dinner

Okay, so this technically is not something we did ON our wedding day, but it is definitely one of our sweetest moments from the week of our wedding. We left our rehearsal and went for a walk at a park nearby. Everyone has heard (or will hear) advice like this, “make sure you rest on your wedding day.” This is great advice, but we took it a bit further. The whole week leading up to our wedding we were entertaining people, constantly talking, and socializing with friends and family. By the time our rehearsal came around, we were SO ready for a few moments alone. This was definitely something that we HIGHLY recommend doing!

2. We Wrote Letters to Each Other

Faith wrote her letter days before our wedding, I wrote mine the night before. Now a lot of people write letters to each other on their wedding day. But, we read our letters to each other at our first look. Our wonderful videographers put a small microphone on me, so we have the audio from our first look and letters. It is such a sweet memory to watch the footage of our first look and letters and see the emotion that we were feeling that day. This is such a sweet memory for us and we absolutely love filming weddings that do this!
- P.S. You can write two letters. A private one and one for the first look ;)

3. After The Ceremony We Took 5 Minutes to Ourselves

Leading up to the ceremony we had a lot of things that we had to do. Lots of pictures, finish getting ready, etc. But right after the ceremony, we took about 5 minutes to freak out together and be alone as husband and wife. This is such a sweet memory because that was our first time together as husband and wife. Then when we went and had our little freakout with our bridal party! After we had this few minutes of respite, we got ready to party hard with all of our friends and families.
